Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. Her early years were spent listening to traditional music, boleros from the past as well as classic ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is a lover of the operas and tangos. In addition, she is a fan of dramatic performances. She started singing and studying songs with her mother and commenced more serious vocal instruction at the age of 16 under the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. In the School of Music of Guadalajara University and the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico continued her music education. In Guadalajara along with Mexico City, she was an opera singer in numerous groups and chamber choirs. In 2000 she moved to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she settled in her new home in Southern California. She is a current member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist in the traditional Latin American music at private events. Her love and passion for arts, music and performing keep her engaged with a variety of local initiatives in the roles of teacher and performer. Ana was also part of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently a teacher of the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, through her sharing songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill an interest, especially in the younger generations, for keeping this music in the present.
