MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The global recognition of his music has helped his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. The hit song from 2016 Una Lady Como Tu was winner of the Colombian Kids Choice Award for Favorite Song in the year 2017. In 2017, he released ADN, his first long-player for La Industria Inc. in Medellin. It peaked at number eight at the top of the Top Latin Albums chart. Vaina Loca was one of the Top Five hit for Ozuna and for him in the following year. He dropped Dopamina the chart-topping sophomore album the following year. In 2021 he produced an duet with TINI's popular single Maldita Foto. The hit song La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo was born into a musical family, his elder brother and mom are also musicians. In interviews, Turizo said that music is essential. When he was young, he taught to perform on the guitar, piano as well as the ukulele. The initial goal was to be a veterinarian, but his brother Julian persuaded him to learn how to sing under an instructor from a Cuban teacher.
